A free festival celebrating life, nature, community action and creativity

Nottingham Castle

Nottingham Castle will host 'Medieval Legends' over the May bank holiday weekend (Saturday 27 - Monday 29 May)

This three-day medieval weekend in the castle grounds will showcase cave tours, a medieval encampment, have-a-go archery and a meet and greet with Robin Hood himself!

Entry is just £1 per person per day, and tickets can be booked online here

Rufford Abbey

A Knights Trail

27 May - 4 June

10.30am - 16.00 Daily (no need to pre book)

Embark on an epic quest around the Abbey grounds, with our themed walk. Locate all our knights shield, find the clues and gain a prize!

Head to the Front Field for sports and loose play. Why not take a picnic and make a day of it?

We're excited to be relaunching our family orienteering route this school holiday, with maps available from the Discovery Centre. Have fun finding your way around the route and testing your orienteering skills.

Head to the Discovery Centre to enjoy a range of 50 Things to do before you're 11 & 3/4, or 50 Things to do when you're a bit older. activities. If you pick up both, that's up to 100 activities that you can do throughout the year at any National Trust property!

On Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 May, join the team down at Lake Brew, by the lake in Hardwick village, for Stick Art sessions. From 10.30 - 14.00, create wild art with materials collected from around the park.

Belton House (National Trust Admission Also Applies)

Can you be a Belton detective and help us find the pesky pests hiding in the house? Pick up your trail sheet from the mansion entrance and get hunting for the hidden pests. Discover more about what damage they can cause and have a go at creating your very own creature! Available when the mansion is open, Thursday - Monday, 11am - 4pm, last entry at 3.30pm.

Embark on an adventure outdoors to become a nature hero at Belton! Pick up your trail sheet from the visitor reception and tick off some of the 50 things to do before you're 11 3/4. What tree will you get to know?

Don't forget to explore the outdoor adventure playground!

Booking is not needed for the activities, but booking is required for entry to Belton during school holidays and bank holidays. You can book through the website or by calling 0344 249 1895.

Hemlock Happening

An exciting annual event to have fun with your family and friends and to celebrate the Coronation of the King Charles III! Free entry for everyone; food, fairground rides, crafts, dance, live music performances and much more. The event will be marked by a finale firework extravaganza at 10.30pm. FREE parking is available at Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground NG9 8JE which is only 3 mins walk from the venue. Limited parking spaces for blue badge holders are also available on site. Stonebridge City Farm

-Monday: the education room will be open with a whole host of crafts for you and little ones to get stuck into, this will be £1 per child to get into. This will be open all day so you can drop in anytime throughout the day

-Tuesday: We have the AMAZING rainbow stripes joining us as usual, is the weather is nice we will be hosting this one OUTSIDE! Tickets are £3 and are sold first come first serve basis, so get here early

-Wednesday: Teddy Bears Picnic AND Sheep Shearing! We are spoiling you that day. There will be loads of activities from story time to crafts.

Joss will be joining us on the farm to give all the sheep their yearly trim. She will talk you through the sheep shearing process, not to be missed! All the fun starts from 10am

-Thursday: We will be hosting a little foraging activity for our rabbits. Our knowledgeable Barn Manager Marie will show you how to make little foraging packs for your rabbits and talk you through everything they like to eat. Supplies for this are VERY LIMITED AND WILL BE GIVEN OUT ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. THE ACITIVITY STARTS AT 12:30PM AND ONCE WE HAVE SOLD ALL THE TICKETS THAT IS IT!

-Friday to Sunday: We will taking part in the Green Hustle Festival. There will be a FREE trail on throughout the farm celebrating everything GREEN here at the farm

Manor Farm and Parklands

This May half term, dinosaurs will be taking over the farm! Book in advance for the best prices!!

Open daily 10am to 5pm, from Monday 29th May to Friday 2nd June in East Leake, LE12 6LU on the Notts/Leics/Derbyshire borders.

Little ones will love hunting in the sand for fossils and dinosaur skeletons. And, in addition to the seven dinosaurs to find along The World of Dinosaur Roar! Discovery Trail, the 'real-life' Dinosaur Roar! will be making an appearance for selfies throughout the week.

White Post Farm

Half term is coming and so are the Dinosaurs! 29th May until 2nd June!

Raptors World - Roarsome Dinosaur Entertainment are on their way and we have a full timetable of prehistoric action to look forward to!

Inflatables Fun Day at Mellish Rugby Club

We will be at MELLISH RUGBY CLUB (NG35RX) on the 27th, 28th and 29th of May 2023

We will be bringing the UK’s largest inflatable outdoor play area to Mellish Rugby Club! Sessions will start at 10:30am and 2pm lasting 3 hours all for £9 per child! THIS IS A PAY ON THE GATE EVENT ONLY! The age range for this event is 2-12, strictly NO adults on the inflatables. This is an outdoor event so weather permitting. Accompanying adults and car parking are free Mellish Rugby Club have a strict NO DOGS policy total wipeout and bungee trampolines are at an additional cost.
